Cleaning Process and Cleaning Method of Plate Heat Exchanger

As an efficient heat exchanger, the plate heat exchanger has been widely used in all fields. Because of its light weight, small area, low investment, high heat transfer efficiency, flexible assembly, easy to remove scaling and so on, it has been favored by the public. However, the flow section of plate heat exchanger is small, it is easy to appear scaling, clogging and other phenomena. The efficiency of heat exchanger is reduced and the heating effect is affected. Therefore, the effective cleaning is important, the service life can be prolonged, the heat exchange efficiency can be improved. This paper introduces the cleaning method of plate heat exchanger.

Cleaning Methods And Processes

1. Select the appropriate cleaning agent, and calculate the amount of cleaning agent to be used according to the area and scaling condition of plate heat exchanger.

2. According to the pipeline volume of the heat exchanger, prepare the container containing cleaning agent, which can meet the needs of circulation. It is requires that the containers with clean, non-oxidized layers or non-metallic materials on the inner surface of the container.

3. According to the internal circulation pressure requirements of the heat exchanger, prepare the industrial centrifugal pump which can be used for circulation. Prepare the connecting line between the pump and the heat exchanger and the container, and make the flange connection and connect the pipeline if necessary.

4. According to the dirt thickness or cleaning time, it is determined whether the original solution of the cleaning agent needs to be diluted, and the dilution ratio can be controlled between 1:1~1:5 according to the situation.

5. Pour enough cleaning agent into the container to start cleaning the heat exchanger. 

6. During the cycle cleaning, due to the chemical reaction between the cleaning agent and the scale, it can be found in the solution tank that there is significant dissolved scale impurity and foam.

7. After cleaning for a period of time, the cleaning agent was tested with PH test paper. When the PH value was higher than 4~5, proper amount of cleaning agent should be added to continue cleaning. At the same time, the inlet and outlet of the circulating pipeline are replaced by reverse circulation cleaning, and the other side is cleaned.

8. When the cleaning agent is to be tested in the cleaning process, the PH value is kept within 3 and no change is made for a long time, and the heat exchange equipment has been cleaned and cleaned. 

9. Wash the stripped dirt and other impurities in the equipment by changing water into the container. The flushing process also needs to be changed, and the outlet line is flushed repeatedly.

The above is an introduction to the cleaning of plate heat exchanger. It should be emphasized that scaling is very harmful to plate heat exchanger, so it is necessary to actively prevent and carry out regular cleaning. Timely cleaning can prevent the loss caused by scaling and even the destruction of equipment in plate heat exchanger.
